Application and use

Thanks to its special surface treatment the glossy surface of HERMA PE silver tc offers an excellent printing quality in conventional printing methods like e.g. UV flexographic printing.

HERMA PE silver tc is perfect for the production of optically pretentious, glossy labels. For recycling reasons these labels are preferably used on PE surfaces. The eye-catching film is particularly suitable for labelling luxury products, cosmetics as well as for b everage, food and personal care products and in general for advertising and promotion.

Thanks to the high flexibility of this material even curved surfaces may be labelled without any problems.

The PSA 63Vst is characterized by an extraordinary high tack. Even on critical surfaces tack-level is very high. 63Vst is therefore ideal for cool, moist and even slightly greasy surfaces. Despite the excellent low temperature properties, it indicates very good mandrel-hold and is therefore suitable for curved surfaces and irregular 3D packaging. Once labelled 63Vst is highly waterproof. The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.

Regulations concerning contact with food

HERMA PE silber tc complies with the legal requirements or recommendations of Regulation (EC) no. 1935/2004 and (EU) no. 10/2011 in the respectively applicable version on plastics and articles intended to come into contact with food as well as of Regulation (EC) no. 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.

All ingredients of adhesive 63Vst comply with recommendation BfR XIV or FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 63Vst can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 2 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. Furthermore, the adhesive may be used for laminating various materials. In this case, cut edge contact with food is harmless as far as the above mentioned adhesive is concerned. It must be ensured that the relevant migration limits are complied with by the laminated packaging (Declaration of no objection valid until 15.12.2027).

Furthermore the self-adhesive labels with the adhesive 63Vst can be used for labelling of blood bags (Expert's Opinion from December 16, 2021).

The paper liner complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
