Application and use

HERMAcoat light is suitable for high-quality labels with multi-colour imprint. The semi-gloss coated surface of HERMAcoat light offers an excellent quality of the imprint with all conventional printing methods as well as with thermal transfer and laser printing. Furthermore HERMAcoat light is suitable for digital printing methods Xeikon and UV-Inkjet. Pre-testing is recommended.

The pulp for this paper comes from FSC® certified forest management and other controlled sources.

Adhesive 71N was specially developed for use in a sustainable labelstock. Adhesive 71N plays a decisive role in the emissions balance of this labelstock. The raw materials required for its production are based on the so-called biomass balance approach, which uses biomass from organic waste instead of fossil raw materials.  Pressure-sensitive adhesive 71N shows good adhesion to packaging films, even at low temperatures. Due to very high tack, adhesive 71N is particularly suitable for high-speed dispensing systems. 71N is less suitable for rough and curved surfaces.

Processing

Excellent die-cutting characteristics on all customary machines.

Storage conditions

Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.

The shelf life is two years from date of production.

Regulations concerning contact with food

All ingredients of the pressure-sensitive adhesive 71N comply with the recommendations BfR XIV or FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 71N can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 3 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011.
