Application and use

The glossy metallic surface with its print receptive coating offers good printability in conventional label printing methods (e.g. UV-flexo). A verification of ink suitability is recommended.

Metal laminated papers are impermeable to grease, oil and other liquids. The aluminium layer offers an excellent barrier.

"HERMAgold bright" is especially suitable for labels that require a metallic effect for decoration or technical purpose. That is e.g. for name plates and wiring diagrams, ornamental labels and also for appli cations in the beverage and cosmetics industry.

Adhesive 93C is characterized by extremely high adhesion to a great variety of surfaces, even critical substrates such as packing films or bottles. The adhesive is perfectly suited for cold-storage applications on cold and humid surfaces. The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.

Processing

Good die-cutting characteristics on all usual machines. Excellent printability with UV print-ing inks. As part of a self-adhesive compound HERMA PH (523) offers excellent die-cutting characteristics with all customary flatbed and rotary die-cutting tools.

Storage conditions

Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.

The shelf life is two years from date of production.

Regulations concerning contact with food

With regard to the tests carried out, the samples submitted comply with the applicable provisions of Commission Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food and Commission Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. Labels made with it may be in direct contact with dry, non-fatty food. The gold, lacquered side may also be in direct contact with moist and fatty foods.

All ingredients of adhesive 93C comply with recommendation FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).The paper complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
