Application and use

The glossy surface of HERMA rPE white (855) with its corona pretreatment on one side offers an excellent print quality in conventional printing techniques. Before printing we recommend to freshen up the corona pretreatment. This recycled film contains gel particles. These depend on the quality of the recyclates from the post consumer recyclate (PCR) collection and can thus vary. Depending on the size and shape of the gel particles, there may be variations in ink acceptance. It may therefore be necessary to adjust the printing and die-cutting.This recycled film is also suitable for thermal transfer printing. Pre-testing is recommended. HERMA rPE white (855) is perfect for the production of optically pretentious, glossy, non-transparent labels. For recycling reasons these labels are preferably used on PE surfaces. The special look of HERMA rPE white (855) underlines its recycling design. Thanks to the high flexibility of this material even curved surfaces may be labelled without any problems.

Composition of HERMA rPE white (855)

This recycled film contains approx. 50 % PCR Post Consumer Recycled PE. The outer layers are made of PIR Post Industrial Recycled PE.

RecyClass Certification: HERMA rPE white (855) complies with the requirements set out in EN 15343:2007.

Our contribution to sustainability: PCR plastics are used in the production of this film. Recycled plastics help us to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and thus effectively combat climate change. At the same time, we can contribute to reducing plastic waste and promote the collection, sorting and recycling of plastic waste to create a circular economy.

Adhesive 42N is suitable for applications requiring medium tack combined with good removability. It is particularly suited for labelling surfaces like cardboard, PE-Films and steel. Removability may be impaired if applied on certain surface coated materials.Adhesive 42N features excellent resistance to light, heat and ageing.

The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.

Processing

Excellent die-cutting characteristics on all customary machines. As part of a self-adhesive compound HERMA PW (517) offers excellent die-cutting characteristics with all customary flatbed and rotary die-cutting tools.

Storage conditions

Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.

The shelf life is one year from date of production.

Regulations concerning contact with food

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 42N can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. (Declaration of no objection valid until 11.09.2026)

The paper liner complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
