Application and use

HERMAlaser Recycling offers optimal printability and toner anchorage with all xerographic printing processes. Label sheets are suitable for large laser printers, desktop laser printers, copiers and a great number of inkjet printers. Due to its high degree of whiteness and its pure appearance HERMAlaser Recycling can hardly be distinguished from copy/laser papers based on primary pulp. Also its processability is comparable. HERMAlaser Recycling is bleached chlorine-free and has just the optical brighteners of the used recovered paper.

We recommend the production of narrow reels with a width of 217mm or a width of 434 mm for double-width production (original edges of the semi-finished rolls should not be adopted for sheet-stock). A possible curl in machine direction (especially towards the cores) may be adjusted by a "decurl bar" in the press. Water based inks may have an adverse influence on the flatness of the sheet stock. We therefore advise against use of water based inks especially when printing large areas.

The label paper has the following certificates:

- Blue Angel

- FSC Recycled

- Nordic Swan

- Austrian Ecolabel

- EU Ecolabel

Adhesive 42N is suitable for applications requiring medium tack combined with good removability. It is particularly suited for labelling surfaces like cardboard, PE-Films and steel. Removability may be impaired if applied on certain surface coated materials.Adhesive 42N features excellent resistance to light, heat and ageing.

The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.

Processing

Excellent die-cutting characteristics on all customary machines. As part of a self-adhesive compound HERMA PH (523) offers excellent die-cutting characteristics with all customary flatbed and rotary die-cutting tools.

Storage conditions

Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.

The shelf life is one year from date of production.

Regulations concerning contact with food

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 42N can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. (Declaration of no objection valid until 11.09.2026)

The paper complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
