The glossy metallic surface with its print receptive coating offers good printability in conventional label printing methods (e.g. UV-flexo). A verification of ink suitability is recommended.
Metal laminated papers are impermeable to grease, oil and other liquids. The aluminium layer offers an excellent barrier.
"HERMAgold bright" is especially suitable for labels that require a metallic effect for decoration or technical purpose. That is e.g. for name plates and wiring diagrams, ornamental labels and also for appli cations in the beverage and cosmetics industry.
Adhesive 42N is suitable for applications requiring medium tack combined with good removability. It is particularly suited for labelling surfaces like cardboard, PE-Films and steel. Removability may be impaired if applied on certain surface coated materials.Adhesive 42N features excellent resistance to light, heat and ageing.
The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.
The shelf life is one year from date of production.
With regard to the tests carried out, the samples submitted comply with the applicable provisions of Commission Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food and Commission Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. Labels made with it may be in direct contact with dry, non-fatty food. The gold, lacquered side may also be in direct contact with moist and fatty foods.
All statements correspond to the current state of our knowledge and are based on information from our raw material suppliers. The pressure-sensitive adhesive 42N can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. (Declaration of no objection valid until 11.09.2026)
